After one year Graeme reaches a taekwondo milestone! He got his cub black belt. Now he can move up to the next level and begin sparring. He should love getting to kick and hit other dudes. Lord knows he’s had enough practice one his mother and father.

My best friend Steve (who is a diseased Beatles fanatic himself) gave Graeme this beautiful set of Beatles dolls for his birthday a couple of years ago. I was apprehensive at first to let him play with them because as you know, toys are much more fun when they’re put up on the shelf right? But Steve insisted that Graeme get to play with them and having 5 little Beatles himself proves he knows a thing or two about kids and toys. So… now that all of the guitars are broken and Ringo’s drum kit looks more like Keith Moon’s at close inspection, I can see that Steve was right. Graeme has had such a blast with these little guys. They are currently in Ed Sullivan performance mode on top of his chest of drawers.

I have been doing a good bit of macro photography with my new Lumix LX3 camera and with the way that the light from Graeme’s low-wattage lamp bathes and silhouettes them at bedtime, I knew they would be good subjects.
